Broken Link Checker, Source Attached

Check one page or a small website. See every broken destination, every link that redirects and the exact source page where it was found. No score and no sign-up.

Crawl scope

Small-site mode is capped at 8 HTML pages and 60 unique web links. Uppercut fetches only the public URLs needed for this live check and does not save the report.

What The Report Separates

A broken link and a working redirect are different repair jobs. The report keeps them separate and preserves the evidence behind both.

Broken destinations

Unreachable URLs, redirect loops and final HTTP errors with the source page where each link was found.

Redirecting links

Working links that take one or more hops, including their final destination and the number of redirects.

Working links

Successful HTTP responses retained in the full ledger so the report shows its working.

CSV evidence

The filtered on-screen view or the full result can be exported with source, destination, status, outcome and final URL.

Broken Link Checker Questions

What counts as a broken link?

A checked HTTP or HTTPS destination is marked broken when it cannot be reached, enters a redirect loop, exceeds the redirect safety limit or finishes on an HTTP error response such as 404 or 500. Responses that commonly block automated checks, including 401, 403 and 429, are labelled unverified instead.

Does the checker follow redirects?

Yes. It follows up to four redirect hops and reports the final destination. A working link that redirects is kept separate from a broken link because the original link can often be updated directly.

How much of a site does the free crawl check?

Single-page mode checks links found on one public page. Small-site mode discovers up to eight internal HTML pages and checks up to sixty unique HTTP links across them.

Does the checker run JavaScript?

No. It reads links present in the initial HTML returned by each source page. Links inserted only after JavaScript runs will not appear in this report.

Does Uppercut save the URLs or report?

No. The browser sends only the public URLs needed for the live check. The server fetches them for the request and does not save the crawl or add it to a lead record.

Can I download the broken-link report?

Yes. After the check finishes, export the results as a CSV file. The export follows the current filter, so select all results for the complete checked list or choose a particular outcome to focus the file. It includes source pages, destinations, HTTP status, redirect details and notes, giving your web team the information needed to locate and review each link.
